2013 Is Looking Good
I first typed that as 2012 and then remembered it wasn’t 2012 anymore. It’s always hard to get used to a new year. The same thing happens after your birthday. I always have to stop and think, how old am I? That never happened when I was a kid. I always knew exactly what was going on. Sometimes I think I may be getting slower as I age. But then I think maybe when I was young I only had a small amount of life to manage. And now it feels like I have to manage so much.
2013 is looking to be quite an exciting year. For all of the hard work I put in 2012, I am hoping to reap some serious rewards in 2013. Travel is always something fun to think about, and with my monumental trip to England and France on the horizon, it looks pretty promising. After reviewing my trips I noticed I have two very cold trips planned, which is so unusual for me. Because I am a big baby who hates snow. But I am hoping the benefits of cozy fires, friends, and families outweigh the negatives. So here is my travel 2013 list so far:
February
Salt Lake City, Utah: Long weekend work conference somewhere I have never been with a guarantee for cold weather. Brrr!
Big Bear, Ca: Hoping to do a weekend getaway with a cozy fire place and not too much snow.
May
Denver, Co (possible Mother’s day trip): The husband has a work trip and I am hoping to tag along with the kids. After all, it is mother’s day weekend, right?
June/July
England/France: Yeah, you’ve heard about this one. 14 days in Europe with my kids and husband. SO EXCITED.
July
Beach Camping in California reservations have been made, it’s just a weekend camping trip but I am looking forward to it!
September
Trip to Washington? And hopefully I can pull together miles to visit my friend in Wa before it gets too cold and rainy.
There may be other travel including various NorCal trips and the possible move my kid to college trip (sad! don’t talk about it!). I am also leaving in the possibility that my husband may be able to get a reservation at the Crystal Cove cottages, but it’s not too likely.
What about you? Any travel plans for 2013?

We’re just doing our usual couple of camping trips and week at the beach in 2013. The big trip to take the kids to see The Mouse is slated for January 2014.
So The Mouse, does he live in Florida or California?
Awesome plans!! I’ve got nothing concrete but I’d love to take my kid to Disneyland this year, and a few camping &/or diving trips this summer. Nothing exciting & international like you.
camping, road trips, and the happiest place on earth sound fun!
Yay for visiting in September, my “vast” experience indicates that it should still be nice weather then!
High school baseball starts soon, so travel tournaments won’t start until summer.
CA in March, April and hopefully in June. With the kids in the fall? Then December, maybe solo again to see Kristi.
Tim and I may take a vacation just the two of us at some point.
And I have some more WA lighthouses to see…
fun!
Looks like it’s going to be an awesome year! I’m planning to go to South Africa in March, so am quite excited about that!
wow, south Africa sounds exciting!
Michigan for mother’s day which also happens to be my mother-in-law’s birthday and my birthday. Yay!
Have fun fun fun on all your travels.
May is better than winter in Michigan, right? hope you have fun!
You know, even when it’s not right after my birthday, I still have to figure out how old I am.
Good luck with the adventures — Duffy & I have some camping trips that we just booked that I’m truly excited about . . . and then, there’s the week at the beach which will be wonderful beyond words.
